Legacy of Love: The Essence of Flowers and Rosemary

Founder

In the heart of every product crafted by Flowers and Rosemary lies a story of love, resilience, and ancestral wisdom. Founded by WyShonda Marshall, this self-care, home & art brand is a living tribute to the remarkable lives of her grandmothers, Dorothy Flowers and Rosemary Marshall—women whose passions and lifestyle choices shaped a legacy that continues to inspire.
Named in their honor, Flowers and Rosemary embodies more than just aesthetics; it is a journey into the power of ancestral legacy. WyShonda’s grandmothers, despite the socio-economic limitations of their time, lived with a grace and style that left an indelible mark on those around them. It wasn’t until adulthood that WyShonda fully understood how deeply these influences ran in her own life, sparking the drive and purpose behind her brand.
Both Dorothy and Rosemary raised their families in the Magnolia Projects, a place often burdened with negative connotations. Despite the challenges, these incredible women built a foundation within that community that was filled with love and support. While they couldn't shield their family entirely from the harsh realities of the outside environment, they ensured that their families were equipped with the strength and resilience to face those challenges head-on. At the same time, they instilled a deep appreciation for their roots and the positive aspects of making the best out of difficult circumstances.
Dorothy Flowers, known for her impeccable fashion sense, was a true style icon. Her presence at church functions was nothing short of a runway show. WyShonda fondly recalls the ritual of watching her grandmother dress with care—stockings from Dillards, corsets, silk slips, and a touch of Fashion Fair makeup. But it was more than just the clothes; it was the way Dorothy's face would light up with pride as her granddaughter played dress-up in her closet, imitating the elegance that seemed second nature to her. In those playful moments, the seeds of WyShonda’s passion for aesthetics and beauty were sown.
Rosemary Marshall, on the other hand, was the epitome of nurturing love and hospitality. Stylish, bold, humorous, and beautiful, Rosemary had a natural flair that drew people in.
Her modest yet stylish apartment was not just a home but a sanctuary where she raised her four children, her special-needs brother, and two young nieces who had tragically lost their mother. Despite the limited space, Rosemary’s home was a warm and welcoming haven, where family and friends gathered daily. The doors were always open, and the apartment’s rich decor—velvety curtains, crystal lamps, and Louis XIV furniture—created an environment that was as stylish as it was comforting. It was here, in the heart of the Magnolia Projects, that WyShonda learned the true meaning of creating a space filled with love and beauty.
Flowers and Rosemary is not just a brand; it’s an homage to the village built by WyShonda’s grandmothers—a testament to the idea that energy never dies. The products are crafted with the finest ingredients, not just for their quality but because WyShonda sees her customers as an extension of her family. When you step into the world of Flowers and Rosemary, you’re stepping into a space filled with genuine love, care, and the legacy of two extraordinary women.
Whether it’s a fine fragrance, a home scent, or a piece of decor, each creation is a reflection of the values instilled in WyShonda by her grandmothers. Flowers and Rosemary is a brand that celebrates self-care and home-care, honoring the dreams of Dorothy and Rosemary while creating new legacies for families everywhere.
